Well I've finally made the jump to living and working in Austin Texas. Good bye Houston. Can't say I totally hated you, I learned a lot and you have pockets of charm.
Now it's time to become who I really want to be. What does that mean? Well it's just a matter of me pursuing my interests, networking, enjoying the outdoors and great music. It's never too late to reinvent one's self. Can't wait to start painting again. Want to start a rockabilly blues band on the side. Who knows what else. It's gonna be fun!

New president, new ideas, new era.
Today will be one of those days that will go down in history. I don't know how many people, websites, news programs have to tell me that. It's so obvious to come to that conclusion on your own. In my life I have never experienced the electricity and high that has come from a new president taking office. His speech after being sworn in, moved me. I will probably listen to that from time to time for years to come.
This is going to be an exciting, scary time. I'm looking forward to it. We need to shake things up. It has to get better. We are in control of our own destiny.
It's made me want to be better. To do things, not just think about them. It's also making others in this nation aspire to be better.
At the moment, that's all we can ask for. A positive role model.
With hard work, the rest will come.

Imagine real life Dr. Seuss animals.
I wanted to mention an exhibit that is being shown currently at the Art League of Houston. www.artleaguehouston.org from Jan 9th to Feb 20th.
The artist is Elaine Bradford. She has figured out a way to mix taxidermy with crochet. Yes it's strange, but totally fun and fascinating. Two rams joined at the mid-section by yarn. Their bodies wrapped up in these colorful crochet body suits.
The exhibit is displayed in dioramas, like what you would see at the museum of natural science. Animals in their "natural" habitat. Giving reason to the exhibit being called "The Museum of Unnatural History".
I loved every moment of it, and thought it was very original. It's refreshing to see art that's not following trends. It was a neat concept that was delivered in a polished way. A totally immersive experience. Go if you can.

Happy New Year! A fine 2009.
So far this year seems to be promising. I know it's only January second, but I feel very positive about my future and my family's future. Great things to come.
